Catholic Identity

At the heart of who we are, is our Catholic identity!

Weekly Mass

There is no greater prayer in the Catholic Church than the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass.  Students at Holy Family participate in this great tradition once a week, on Tuesdays in the Ursuline Chapel.

Each week, a different class takes the lead and participates in the Mass by reading, bringing up the gifts, ushering, and singing in the choir. All students, whether Catholic or not, participate in Mass. Students learn the common responses and a variety of traditional and contemporary hymns.  They are taught Mass etiquette and the appropriate behavior at church.

Morning and Afternoon Prayer

Each day in assembly, students come together in prayer before beginning each day. Students close each school with group prayer.

Blessing of the Pets
Each year, celebrating the Feast Day of St. Francis of Assisi, students bring their pets to school for the Blessing of the Pets.

Stations of the Cross
During Lent, students participate in stations of the cross.

Living Rosary
Each year, students celebrate a living rosary.

Each year, the 4th Grade, led by Sr. Barbara Ann, celebrate the lives of the Saints.
Nativity Pageant
Each Christmas season, elementary and middle-school students re-enact Mary and Joseph’s journey to Bethlehem.
